This series consists of a survey conducted by the Public Health Service. There is a narrative section and supporting documents consisting of completed forms. The narrative covers topics on water supply, sewage, plumbing, garbage disposal, refuse disposal, rodent control, abattoir, hospital, milk supply, food handling, hospital diet kitchen, the Haskell Institute cafeteria, and the Haskell Cafe. The survey also includes a summary. The narrative describes the existing operation, lists violations, and makes recommendations for improvements. The forms include inspection forms describing eating and drinking establishments, the Indian Service facilities, the water supply, the sewerage system, and plumbing. The photographs depict sewerage treatment (sludge beds and aerators), garbage disposal (fed to the hogs), and refuse disposal areas.
